Corn growers continue to raise alarms about high fertilizer costs, including during a hearing on fertilizer affordability held before the Senate Agriculture Committee on May 12, according to the National Corn Growers Association.
The USDA currently expects corn use for fuel ethanol during the 2026-’27 marketing year will be unchanged when compared to the 2025-’26 marketing year. The outlook for corn production was lowered, with the forecast for corn prices increased.
UNICA has released final data for the 2025-’26 sugarcane harvest season, which concluded March 31, 2026. Sugarcane processing and sugarcane ethanol production were down, but corn ethanol production continued to grow.
