The U.S. House of Representatives on May 13 voted 218 to 203 to approve the Nationwide Consumer and Fuel Retailers Choice Act. The bill aims to enable year-round E15 sales and revamp the RFS small refinery exemption (SRE) program.
The Sustainable Advanced Biofuel Refiners Coalition on May 13 announced it is pro-biofuels, pro-agriculture and pro-E15. The group, however, does not support the SRE provisions of the Nationwide Consumer and Fuel Retailer Choice Act.
The certainty of year-round E15 will help lower fuel costs for American families while bolstering the farm economy, the RFA stressed in a letter to all members of the House of Representatives, urging their support for H.R. 1346.
The USDA currently expects corn use for fuel ethanol during the 2026-’27 marketing year will be unchanged when compared to the 2025-’26 marketing year. The outlook for corn production was lowered, with the forecast for corn prices increased.
Members of Congress and leaders from several agricultural and biofuel organizations gathered outside the Capitol on May 12 to call on the U.S. House of Representatives to pass legislation that will allow year-round sales of E15.
