Representatives of the U.S. biofuel industry were among more than 450 parties that weighed in on the Internal Revenue Service’s proposed 45Z clean fuel production credit regulations ahead of an April 6 deadline.
Over 50 state ag groups and eight national organizations sent a letter to the International Trade Commission on March 31 urging the agency to revoke the countervailing duty orders on imports of phosphate fertilizer from Morrocco.
The USDA on April 1 delivered a final rule to establish “technical guidelines for the production of regenerative agricultural biofuel feedstocks” to the White House Office of Management and Budget, where it will undergo interagency review.
Converting sugarcane waste to biofuel could become more environmentally friendly and cost effective, thanks to a joint project at The University of Queensland and the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi.
The USDA’s Commodity Credit Corp. on March 25 announced it does not expect to purchase and sell sugar under the Feedstock Flexibility Program for crop year 2025, which runs from Oct. 1, 2025, to Sept. 30, 2026.
