The elections are over. Now we get to listen to endless analysis. From ethanol circles, the analysis is hopeful. Most are expecting the newly balanced Congress will not drastically change policy regarding renewable fuels.

Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack's announcement of USDA cost share for 10,000 blender pumps over the next five years is good news for the industry. The money is to come from existing funding, through existing programs - all of which means the infrastructure effort can begin rolling quickly. (Well, quickly for a program coming out of Washington.)

This past week, the U.S. EPA did as expected and announced it will allow E15 blends for 2007 vehicles and newer. They expect to complete tests on 2001 and newer models in November.
New technologies offer producers a pathway to generating power and profits through the production of salable coproducts.
The state's CO2 reduction goals regulations are in place, unless a referendum delays implementation.
